I couldn't be more thankful with Tresierras Supermarket. It was my first time making Guatemalan tamales and this store was a blessing to me because I was able to find all the necessary ingredients to make my tamales taste as authentic as my grandma's. They literally have all the central American ingredients such as pepitorias, fresh plantain leaves and an array of dried chili pods. They sell really nice quality meat and the butcher was super friendly and helpful. Thank you Tresierras for being a one stop shop!
I don't typically grocery shop here but La Rosa closed down and I wanted a ceviche fix and damn did I get it. Got a pound of the shrimp ceviche, pound of aguachile shrimp, half pound of fake crab, a cucumber, lime and clamato and was set. This place is better than Vallarta and the aguachile shrimp was really spicy, in a good way. Oh damn they have a red aguachile ceviche! I like it better than the green. I added a small mango to cut the heat this time and it was bomb!
Tressierras on Pleasant Valley/Saviers Road corner in Oxnard is Patronized mostly by Customers in need of Latino/Hispanic Legumbres, Verduras, Abarrotes, Carniceria/Mariscos, Panaderia and Miscelanea. Or to put it in English: Just about any food/non-food product, you may need. On their Bakery end, items offered, go from fancy cakes to fresh baked rolls to Custards. The Meat Department is big enough that they offer all varieties of roasts, chops and then some. If you ask for a certain cut, most often they oblige. Can't forget a Latino main-stay: Tortillas! They're made daily by the thousands in all sizes. The Fresh fruits and vegetables aren't always as fresh as you'd like so you may be disappointed there. Prices vary from "Bargain" to "Are You Kidding Me?!" I've been Patronizing this Grocery Market for Five years now. So it can't be all that bad and when I've suggested some improvements, I later saw them implemented. In any event, The Staff is courteous and friendly. P.S., they also have a fast food take out (or eat in) that serves Mexican food items to lick your chops. Go see.
